A delicious treat, or, two...

Having attempted macarons myself and the work that goes into them, i realised i may as well just purchase these from the experts... Fortunately one of the Adriano ZumBo patisseries are just a few mins away from our home {whilst i suspect my waistline does not like this too much}. We choose mint and chestnut, strawberries and cream, vanilla and salted caramel.... Just too delicious. The salted caramel are my favourite, i can never, ever seem to get enough of caramel! Aren't paper straws so lovely! My best friend Kate, adores paper straws... She thinks drinks taste better with them. I'd kind of have to agree as well. It's odd isn't it how the aesthetic of something can influence how much you enjoy something. Have a gorgeous weekend! Kellie xx

Toys to play with....

I still haven't purchased a SLR camera and all the other lenses jazz as I couldn't decide on which one - annoying I know! Luckily Luke's friend is a photographer and is lending me his 'baby' for the weekend and all the bells and whistles that goes with it. Hopefully next week ill have some 'pretty' shots - very, very excited! Then maybe, just maybe I can select the camera...

Reader advice... Please?

I've decided it's time to get an digital SLR. And i'm so very excited about it!

Just a slight issue... Which one to get. I'm tossing up between the Canon EOS 5D or 7D. Does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts on what would be a good choice? As you know, I love taking photos of interiors and items around my home. I would love to hear your thoughts? Kellie xx

Pink sweetness

Phew it's the weekend! And what a week I feel I have had (even though it was one day shorter than normal).

What are you doing this weekend? We have a fair bit planned including attending a friend's wedding but, still enough time to head to the flower markets, perhaps have some brunch, take our girls out to the park for a couple of plays and maybe a spot of shopping. Sounds pretty fine to me.

A meal to remember...

I am absolutely no food critic however I have to say that I had possibly the best meal today I have ever had. I went to Bird Cow Fish in Surry Hills (for my international readers an inner Sydney suburb) and ordered the gnocchi with prawns, burnt, verjuice and crispy sage. Oh my, it was absolutely amazing and I would never normally order gnocchi! I was sad when I had eaten it all!

If you have not already been there, please, please go and try it and if you have been and didn't select the gnocchi, you must return. Delicious.

Sugar makes everything better...

What a day! I think I deserve something really delicious and something really, really unhealthy. That of course would make me very happy...

You know when you are really, really frustrated and you just can't say anything even though you want to explode. Well that's what happened today. So, in recognition of my self control I award myself with a whole lot of sugar!

Luckily tomorrow is a new day and I will be calm by then... Kellie xx

Just a little of time and detail...

Such magical colours! These sugar cubes are all hand made at Such Pretty Things. You know, I love the look of tiny, elegant delights such as this although as I have such poor patience (and at times attention to detail), creating such little beauties seems like such a challenge. Perhaps though, on a rainy day, I should give it a shot. Any one else suffer from the disorder of serious lack of patience?! Kellie xx

A glass and a colourful delight

Hello Sunday. Last day of my holidays. How very sad. 

So I celebrate and rejoice this last day with gorgeous glasses and yummy, colourful things to eat. I then need to get myself motivated and accept the fact that my life of luxury and relaxation is over (until the next anticipated break). Anyone else feel my pain!? Kellie xx
