A beautiful bargain...

Such gorgeous flowers. I picked these up at the flower markets on Saturday, i slept in and seemed they must have been ready to pack up and go home as i picked these lovely blooms up (plus 2 more bunches that are in another large ginger jar) for $12! Crazy! Lots of pretty colour in our home at the moment which is so lovely. Kellie xx

Roses + roses...

Saturday morning I completely missed the alarm and ended up at the flower markets just as they were closing at 10.55am. I ran to my favourite flower man who gave me 36 roses for $10 - outrageous!! Here are just a few in darling Samantha Robinson vases and they are incredibly beautiful. Orange, lemon and pink - such a special combination.

I always ask him the same question when choosing my roses 'will these last til tomorrow', he often laughs and says they will last you a week! Gotta be sure and enjoy these little darlings for as long as possible. Kellie xx

Roses today...

These are the remainder of my flower market purchases from the weekend. I do adore these Julia and David Austin roses, the smell is divine, and their frilliness and girliness is perfect. I do have to admit though, they barely last very long at all especially since it has been quite hot in Sydney the past few days. Doesn't matter, enjoying their beauty for a couple of days is fine! An interesting arrangement...

It must have been my lucky day at the markets on Saturday morning - I was given 3 bunches of flowers for free. Perhaps its because they see me wandering around there every week and wonder why on earth I dont just sleep in on a Saturday and feel sorry for me!

This week i took home some darling dahlias, hydrangeas, Julia roses and some David Austins (i'll show you those tomorrow). I quite like this arrangement below of the dahlias and hydrangeas -an interesting mix, one quite edgy and the other very rustic but i works so well and the colours are delightful together. Very unexpectedly beautiful, but like most things, it's always best this way... Kellie xx

Flowers and arrivals...

Headed off to the flower markets this morning, the gorgeous peonies are out but sadly the ones that were left were all a bit sad looking. Instead, I found these beautiful David Austin roses who have found their place in our kitchen, their fragrance is beyond beautiful!

I also had an exciting day yesterday as my Samantha Robinson order arrived for the store... Will be available on Monday. A small but beautiful range, if it goes well, I will definitely add more before christmas! If there was something you are particularly interested in, please do let me know.

Have a beautiful Saturday everyone. We are off to a wedding - the most delightful day for it too. And, i heard there will be peonies... Lots of peonies - heaven. Kellie xx

Garden joy

Spring time prettiness. Loving those suspended glass vessels too! We spent lots of time in the garden yesterday, it's so good to see all my favourite hydrangeas starting to show signs of life again. I look forward to having little bunches of flowers inside, courtesy of our little garden. Kellie xx

Leftover weekend beauty...

I thought it was about time I showed you all some pretty pictures of my weekend flower market purchases. Seemed this week there were lots more beautiful flowers available, which meant, as we went a little later in the morning, the flowers were even less expensive than normal. Of course in that instance then, you have to buy double!

I do adore lilies as they just get pretty the more they open and the roses, well their petite size and popping colour sold me in a heartbeat. Kellie xx

Candy pink - just a little!

For those who like a little, pink, but not too much, this is for you! Just a teeny, weeny pop of candy pink to keep your heat warm. It's quite a lovely room isnt it, and those black chairs are such a surprising but delightful look in the space.

Aren't peonies just amazing as well. Being August in Australia, it's just a few more months before I can have a few weeks of heaven. These are the weeks, I head to the flower markets early, with all the florists, just to try and get the prettiest, most gorgeous bunch! Kellie xx

Plans...

Friends are popping over tomorrow night for dinner... The perfect excuse to go a bit mad at the flower markets tomorrow. A little bunch for the bathroom, another for the entry, perhaps some on the little coffee table, more in the kitchen. And, perhaps a bunch for the table. Hmmm think im sounding like a florist! Have a lovely weekend! Thanks for your all your support this week! Kellie xx

Rustic charm

Since we are having a mini holiday, no chance to visit the flower markets this weekend. I thought these babies may just do the trick instead! Very rustic and full of charm. Just like our holiday destination. Have a delightful Sunday xx

Sydney peony love - who would have thought!

After complaining about sadly peonies not being in season in Australia {here} look what I ended up finding! A tiny little stall had a bucket or two of peonies blooming away! The fragrance peonies is so amazing, and their beauty just gets better with time as they start to open more and more. What a gorgeous surprise to what feels like a never ended winterish season - that only really just started! Kellie xx

My interest in an antique vase

I adore this stunning picture found at Judy's blog; Verandah House {a favourite blog of mine, might I add}... I think why I adore that vase so much is it reminds me of an antique vase that my Mum has at her home. Ever since I was little I used to want to touch and play with that vase {but was never allowed with Mum knowing how clumbsy I was}... I have been searching at flea markets for while for one similiar and think perhaps my search needs to start on Ebay... I'll keep you all posted on how my efforts go!

Very jealous about those peonies too, sadly not in season here in Australia but I'm about to head to the flower markets for my regular Saturday morning trip for bloom joy anyways. Kellie xx

Hello bedroom, hello prettiness!

The wallpaper is complete and looks beautiful. I must say, for this room, I wanted something soft, pretty and peaceful. The mint green is very calming and I do adore the metallic bows that pop up brilliantly.

Oh and here are those gorgeous David Austin roses I found over the weekend. Our bedroom is smelling spectacular...

Next is the chandelier. I'm thinking something quite big and glamourous. Oh and I need to hang some art that we have had stored, looking for the right place to put up. Will keep you posted on that one.

Over the next couple of days I will show you the bedside tables I painted and a fabulous cushion that I found on the weekend. Divine if you ask me!! Kellie xx

Today's flower market visit

I had a lovely morning at the flower markets. Whilst there wasn't a whole lot of pretty things available this morning I managed to find a little stall selling gorgeous David Austin roses. I was absolutely delighted with the find as I thought they had finished for the year! Now our house will be full of a beautiful fragrance.. There is nothing like the fragrance from a David Austin rose if you ask me. Kellie xx
