Something old, something new

This gorgeous chair that I had updated for our home just arrived back from the polisher/upholsterer. This was a very old dark timber antique chair, the fabric was in tatters, it was missing 2 of the 3 tall detailing in the back of the chair. With a bit of TLC it has come up looking beautiful. Im so happy with it! The turquoise and gorgeous bold stripes are such a lovely look to a quite a traditional chair. Look at the before shot - yikes!

Pink Hallway Love!

I found this stand at my favourite vintage furniture store and decided on gorgeous pink for our hallway. Apologies for the poor shots - bad light this morning and the tight little nook its in has made it a little difficult! Loving the colour and so pleased with its gorgeousness! Recent antique spotting (& hinting)...

How gorgeous would that chair and commode be with a gorgeous touch of bright paint along with a delightful print on that chair! A camera-less weekend but a gorgeous find...

I had a lovely weekend, it poured with rain in the car all the way to Berry Friday night and I was thinking it was going to be a horrible wet weekend and we would be stuck inside without much to do. Instead the weather turned out to be lovely and there was plenty of opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous shops and delightful places to eat.

Unfortunately I left home with a flat camera battery (oops I know) but I did however find a gorgeous ginger jar at the monthly Berry markets. Its hiding away in that first shot, then in the second, its shining away in all it's glory and you can see the detail so well. The gorgeous blue with the gold is so pretty and it will look delightful with a bunch of flowers... I'm off to the flower markets this week so I'll take a picture of it as a vase this weekend! Antique chairs

This chair I will get painted in a simple classic white with the gorgeous black, mauve and gold fabric.

A fabulous little project to get the ball rolling...

I am very lucky that after my "day" job, I can come home and work on projects that really make me happy and fulfill my hopes and dreams. I have just started to take on small jobs and this one is for a lovely client who has entrusted me to give this old antique chair a facelift.

This beautifying treatment will include some beautiful fresh white paint and we have decided on the Rubie Green East Village fabric in pink. I can't wait to show you the result. We will also be using this same gorgeous fabric for some cushions and lamp shades for their guest bedroom. Kellie xx

Needing a good clean...

My Mum is a lover of all things new, me, well I like a bit of both. Imagine my delight when she remembered she had stored a whole lot of vintage china and silverware from her Great Uncle's home that she really wasn't that interested in keeping for herself. She must of somehow known one day this would be right up my alley as she kept it all for me for years and years...

It's definitely not the kind of thing Mum would use to style her home with and was delighted when I was over the moon to see it loved in our little place. Three gorgeous little silver jugs are now gleaming in my home. Each of these were so black from not being cleaned for years and years but just with a little love and silver cleaner, they have come up beautifully.

Weekend plans...

I'll be heading off to my favourite Sydney antique haunt full of fabulous finds at fabulous prices this Saturday! I spotted a gorgeous chair that I am going to pick up this week, it needs a little face lift but my Mum will adore the final outcome. Oh and perhaps a little console for me - we'll just have to see!

Also my lovely sister in law Nicole flys in from Toowoomba this evening so i'll be spending a fabulous weekend with her too. Shame her husband Stephen and three divine children can't make it this time but we'll be catching up with them all in April when we fly to Brisbane which I am very much looking forward to...
