Darling Orchids ...

My fabulous Pop grew these darling orchids and sent this beautiful bunch home from me. Love them in my favourite Samantha Robinson vase. Always extra special when they come from someone so amazing in your life isn't it. I have so much to thank my grandfather for who has been a wonderful inspiration and support for all my dreams. A pretty table setting at our place!

My Mum and Luke's Mum along with other family members came to our place for Mother's day last Sunday.

I wanted something pretty and bright and decided to decorate our dining table with a combination of blue, white and pink splashes of colour. At the flower markets the day before I picked up three different colours of roses and some chrysanthemums in two tones of pink. I also found some white and pink spotted napkins and tied these together with the cutlery with lovely yellow and white striped ribbon.

Mum thought the table looked just beautiful and had a lovely day to match which is the most important thing! Kellie xx

A few pretty things...

Here are a few details of Nicole's gorgeous home and beautiful, beautful teacup collection.

I think this is where my love for them has come from. Whilst unfortunately I don't have as many little beauties decorating my home, I find that drinking tea in anything else but a teacup just doesn't taste the same.

What I particularily love about Nicole's collection is no two are the same, each has a different meaning and was collected at various times in Nicole's life. She also never uses the same teacup each day and rotates each of them so they all receive equa amounts of love.

A beautiful long weekend!

What a lovely weekend. Thank you to Nicole, Ashlee, Bethany and Breanna for a weekend full of love, laughs and fun.

I thought I would show you a couple of flowers from Nicole's beautiful garden. Oh and her teacup selection which is ah, shall we say, quite extensive... Gorgeous!

I will post a couple more of her tea cups tomorrow. Kellie xx

Needing a good clean...

My Mum is a lover of all things new, me, well I like a bit of both. Imagine my delight when she remembered she had stored a whole lot of vintage china and silverware from her Great Uncle's home that she really wasn't that interested in keeping for herself. She must of somehow known one day this would be right up my alley as she kept it all for me for years and years...

It's definitely not the kind of thing Mum would use to style her home with and was delighted when I was over the moon to see it loved in our little place. Three gorgeous little silver jugs are now gleaming in my home. Each of these were so black from not being cleaned for years and years but just with a little love and silver cleaner, they have come up beautifully.

I have shown you one here and will share the others with you all shortly. Kellie xx

A long weekend treat...

We spent Monday afternoon after a lovely weekend sitting outside enjoying some wine and some cupcakes and biscuits I made over the weekend. I found the Anzac biscuit recipe here.

I kind of did my own things with the cupcake icing and they turned out delicious...

Cake:
125 gm soft unsalted butter
110 gm (½ cup) caster sugar
3 eggs
80g white chocolate melted
110 gm (3/4 cup plain flour)
1tsp baking powder

Icing:
250gm softened butter
1 1/2 cup icing sugar sifted
4 fresh passionfruit
80g white chocolate melted
1tsp vanilla extract

Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then add white chocolate and stir to combine. Sift flour and baking powder over cake batter and fold in until combined. Line two 6-hole (1/3 cup-capacity) muffin tins with 8 paper cases, then divide mixture among cases and bake at 180C for 20 minutes or until cakes spring back when lightly pressed.

For icing, using an electric mixer, beat butter until pale and fluffy, add icing sugar and beat until soft peaks form, then add passionfruit, white chocolate and vanilla extract and beat until combined. Spread frosting over cupcakes and serve.
