I still have a velvet obsession and current sourcing some lovely fabric to make delightful pillows for my shop in the most delicious colours. It's funny though, I was chatting with someone the other day who said they have a fear of touching velvet because of the texture and even the thought of it gives them the shivers! They compared velvet to the skin on a peach! For me, it's just so luxurious, soft and glamourous, with a feather insert, it just is a treat in a living space! Kellie xx

ReplyDeleteHay Kellie I love velvet too and was lucky enough last week to be given two bolts of red and blue velvet. The man was an upholster in his day and thought I might be able to use it. What a score. Sandy x

ReplyDeleteReally nice, as always! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've met people who don't like peaches because of the "fuzziness". I guess diversity makes us all interesting though. I like velvet for winter.
ReplyDeleteI've had some older clients say the same to me Kellie. Funny isn't it. I love velvet, especially all the amazing lush patterns and colours available.

ReplyDeleteHello Kellie,
ReplyDeletejust discovered your blog on the other side of the world (I'm dutch and live in Germany with my family). I adore your two girls and the colours in your blog. It's so beautiful, almost surreal.
Many greetings from Marjan
I absolutely love the look of velvet but, unfortunately can not bear to touch it, it sets my teeth on edge instantly.
ReplyDeleteI'm like that too with peaches, I must cut them with a knife and make sure I don't bite the delicious skin.
Thank goodness velvet pants aren't in fashion, the sound of the legs brushing against each other as people walked by would drive me crazy!
velvet pillows sound so plush and comfy!
ReplyDeleteI am with you - velvet is the best! And the couch in the second photograph is to die for. Hope you are feeling better and have a great weekend of organizing.
