Christmas Tree Update

Following on from yesterday's post there is absolutely no chance that our house will be blessed with any kind of Christmas tree. This gorgeous little thing yesterday just sealed the deal! I came home and Molly had found the jar of caramels I had made on the weekend, knocked it off our side table, broke the jar and managed to take the caramels away to be eaten. There was paper shredded everywhere and little teeth marks in the caramel... Her breath even started to smell like caramel!

Lucky I caught her in the act and she didnt get to eat too much. Cheeky thing! So, no tree for us, just well placed, safe decorations I think!

  1. Been there before. My dog ate a whole bag of Peanut Butter bon bons including the wrappers. Needless to say, we spent time at the vet. Molly's adorable!

  2. In the second photo, she's giving you the slightly frightened "I didn't do it!" look. :) I know it well!

  3. Oh dear! We usd to have a family dog who would steal people's presents, especially if they had lollies in them. Once we came home and she'd unwrapped a box of chocolates and had buried them all over the house. She even had a caramel stuck in her teeth. We learnt to lift everything up from under the tree after then :)
ps you are lucky she didn't eat too many xx

  4. Oh no! Sorry to hear that. It's funny how she can go from looking like an angel in the first photo to a "don't mess with me" face in the 2nd.

  10. It is so funny because your Molly and my William sound like a perfect pair, no proper tree for us this year either. Imagine our two little ones left alone in a house together!!! EK!

  15. Better safe than sorry. I have to put my little guy in the laundry room when I'm out. I caught him trying to sneak a chocolate coin yesterday-he had to climb on the couch to reach the dish which was on my sofa table behind the couch! He's such a little weasel but I love him to pieces!

  26. Ah but she looks like butter wouldnt melt. My dogs very naughty but as long as there isnt anything edible on the tree she leaves it along...our old cat on the other hand used to climb up it to play with the baubles, get stuck in the tinsle and have the tree over (but where would we be without them hey)

  30. Been there, done that! LOL! I think dogs are more creative than we like to think!

Molly is a beautiful dog! Lily is too! Wow, you must be proud of them. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a lovely breed.
Our dog is also a Cavalier, Black Tan. His name is Herman and he is 8 months old now. He has a darling personality and is happy most of the time he is awake.
Our last dog was also a Cavalier (Blenheim-coloured). He died, only 4,5 years old, after suffering from Syringomyelia. A terrible disease. We had severe doubts when we decided to get a new dog. Should we take the chance to have another Cavalier? We try to check out many different breeds, to see if we would like another breed as much as we have liked a Cavalier. In the end we decided to go for another Cavalier, it is a breed that is close to our heart is seems. Now we are more than convinced that we took the right decision for our family. Herman is a dream-dog in every way possible (everyone say's that about their dog, don't we?).
To find you have two Cavalier was just a bonus to my visit to you beautiful blog! I found you visiting another blog I like, and I thought I pay you a visit. I'm so glad I did! :o)

I love to come back and visit you again!

    Best regards from Norway,
    Anette Willemine

  35. Oh what a little rascal lol. And she looks like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. It must be like having a toddler. But it's a small price to pay for such a cutie:)
