Speaking of black...

I found this fabulous black and white striped rug and it is just too divine if you ask me - now just have to order! I'm also looking for something similar in this gorgeous picture.... Seems black is starting to creep more and more into my life. Kellie xx

  3. Keliie, I am like you in the fact that I love light and bright and Spring colors but I have always grounded it with black and white. It is kind of a signature of how I design my home. I am drawn to anything black and white Try it I think you will love it!! Just touches not too much. you have such wonderful taste you will know when it is just right,Kathysue

  4. Can't wait to see the new rug Kellie. Little injections of black into a room can make the other colours pop and I'm sure it'll look great with your other gorgeous things.

  5. i do love the impact a little bit of black makes, either by painting a mantle around a fireplace, or like in that photo, a gorgeous hand painted bureau. i wouldn't want alot, but here and there it's dramatic and kind of a ground for your space i think. pretty image, good luck hunting for your rug! :)

  9. I really like the way that black has been used in that room. Sometimes it can look a bit tacky. I think that you have to be careful with black but, I love that chest. XXXX

  13. I like black too. This is funny, because I am trying to add some white to my house and you are adding black. So many decisions and not enough rooms :) That dresser is fabulous by the way.

    Have a wonderful Friday.

  15. The classic shape of the dresser, with the mirror gloss finish, placed in an unexpected space....reminds me of days of rooms with the proper baby grand. I like it.

  16. I'm not usually into black - it always seems to feature in very clinical, minimalist settings. But in this floral, peachy room the black lacquer is suddenly pretty. Thanks for the inspiration Kellie!

  18. Kel,

I'm so with you on this. In the main living areas in my own home, I have black scattered throughout.
And, black is fabulous for pulling together a room that might otherwise seems a bit hodgey-podgey.
