A ballet inspired lighting


I saw this room over at Made by Girl. Bet you can guess what i first noticed and loved - that tulle around the light! At least it looks like ballet tulle to me!

Then i noticed that stunning fabric on the seating and those pretty, pretty cushions just sitting there looking so loved and comfortable.

I thought about trying this tulle idea myself. Then i realised this may cause potential fire issues if it was to overheat. Hmmm... Possibly one time Luke might not run with my big ideas... Kellie x

    Go for it Kellie...I put tulle around my fairy lights, inspired by Simone at Beach Cottage. I'm pretty sure both our houses are still standing!

    The sofa is SO pretty, love that fabric. The tulle lamp is also gorgeous, I hope you find a way to do it safely :)

    Mmmm yes, very pretty. I think if you put a cone shape made out of tyvek under the tulle to poof it out a bit it would be fine. That's what the Tord Boontje ones have. :)

    Kellie, I love this picture and the light:) You could make a tulle slipcover to pop over a plain white shade, that would solve your fire safety issue.~ Tina xx

    I have LOVED these lights ever since I saw them on skona hem (and also on decor8 blog). I have actually bought some gorgeous white & pink tulle to make one & it is in my project cupboard!!! I am thinking of making one for my WC :-)
