Where can i buy lovely cushions!?

Can anyone out there let me know where I can find pretty cushions? I went on a hunt this morning in Sydney and couldn't find a thing. The thing is, I don't want something stock standard, I would love ones that are feminine, pretty colours, perhaps some detailing. Doesn't sound like that difficult a task but in Sydney it is at the moment. I would even purchase ones online but even that is proving a dead end. Has anyone got any suggestions for me? Kellie xx

  1. Have you tried Etsy.com? I was looking at cushions there the other day and they have some super cute ones.

  2. Prue Trollope in Balmain. The lady who made all my cushions years ago makes them for Prue. Gorgeous fabrics, trims and buttons that she has collected through the years. I've got 6 of her cushions and i just love them!

  3. Hi Kellie:) My lovely friend Minnie at Mama Without Borders blog did a wonderful post yesterday about a creative lady named Gina Amoroso who makes gorgeous feminine cushions (frilly but not too over the top), I think you would love them. She sells them on Etsy. Maybe check out her post? Just a thought, hope it helps. Have a lovely day- Tina xx

  5. Hi Kellie
Well it will be hard to trump your gorgeous cushion from Anna but if I see anything I will let you know.. I have some cushions covers that have similar toile on one side.. but not so nice patchwork on the reverse... if I were more creative I could upcycle them.. haha.. Have a great week and hope you are going to have a LONG weekend... I'm off work anyway so it's all a long weekend at the moment.. xx Julie

  9. Hi Kellie, good luck with the cushion hunt... I am in desperate need of a whole bunch of those, but are quite a way down my priorities list at the mo! I have seen some cute ones on etsy too, but if they are not quite right, you can always personalize them...

  11. Oh Kellie, I know what you mean. I was just talking the other day about making my own?? I am trying to get an etsy store up, but I am still working on that too. I think that may be first priorty right now, that is once I can sit longer :) Do you want toile ones like in your pic; simple, lace, piping ??? What would you like in a cushion. Also, chair cushion are usually hard for me to find??
Thanks for stopping by for a visit and your nice comments. Hope to see you again soon.
    Have a blessed weekend.

  12. do you sew? sometimes it's just as easy to sew four straight lines. (or outsource it to someone else; it shouldn't cost that much) you can repurpose some kitchen/table/bed linens, repurpose vintage fabrics, or transfer some photos on to fabric and create a cushion from that.

  15. Hi Kellie,
for really interesting and totally different cushions, try the southern highlands and Moss vale, there is a french inspired store on the corner there just can't remember the name, but certainly worth the drive, there are so many unique stores- goodluck!!!

  19. kellie-

I feel your frustration!! I find it very hard to shop here in Sydney. which is why i almost buy everything from the states. Sydney has a very mod vibe and it lacks in the more feminine decorating needs. If you want a great on line shop, try etsy.com. ( I can see a few of you are already savvy to this wonderful store!)I am sure you can find something. If all else fails. You got to make it yourself! There are some lovely fabrics and haberdasheries. You can find lots of that on etsy too. Shipping isn't bad either. Good Luck!
