Well it's official. The Sydney sun has absolutely toasted almost every flower growing in my garden. The only thing that is still going strong are my lovely petunias who can't get enough of it. Well the others are burnt to a crisp. I thought I would share with you what I salvaged for my little entry way. The splashes of colour I do like. Kellie xx

Ours are the same Kellie. It's so sad. The iceberg roses are going strong though.
ReplyDeleteOh Kellie - my hydrangeas are beyond saving, but I remember this time last year they were still going strong and then Black Saturday they got burnt by embers :( But this year they came back with a vengeance after lots of TLC - yay!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see some flowers! Where I am we only have lots of snow!!:)
ReplyDeleteOh no!! enjoy the one's that servived don't forget a bot of lemonade or soda water in the vase after a couple of days will help perk them up! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm having the same problem - my poor roses look like they're made of crepe paper! Leigh
ReplyDeleteOh Kellie. It must be so frustrating when that happens...... still, at least you managed to save a few and they look so lovely. XXXX
ReplyDeleteYep, time to forget about the last of the flowers here too.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking it might be an idea to start planning some jonquils in bowls and hyacinths etc. Maybe if i start the planning now, it will actually happen this year!! :)

Poor little flowers...I mean..how on earth can you really protect them from such harsh conditions..unless you stood there with a brolly :? The ones you salvaged are lovely though..was nice that there was still some colour that remained :)
ReplyDeleteLovely pics! Our flowers are dying because of frost, snow & rain!
ReplyDeleteTalk about opposite weather!
Keep cool.

I hope you get some lovely new flowers in your garden when the weather shapes up. Those pictures you posted are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you managed to save some of your gorgeous blooms. I cut some of our Double Delight rosebuds this morning as I am sure they would have otherwise been fried in today's heat here x
ReplyDeletelovely flowers... feel sorry that you don't have the hydrangeas anymore... :(
ReplyDeleteLove the colourful blooms in blue and white china - my favorite combination too!!! I've also lost loads of exquisite hydrangeas to hot days, so sad!!! at least I managed to take pictures whilst they still looked good...
