R.I.P Flowers in Garden

Well it's official. The Sydney sun has absolutely toasted almost every flower growing in my garden. The only thing that is still going strong are my lovely petunias who can't get enough of it. Well the others are burnt to a crisp. I thought I would share with you what I salvaged for my little entry way. The splashes of colour I do like. Kellie xx

  4. Oh Kellie - my hydrangeas are beyond saving, but I remember this time last year they were still going strong and then Black Saturday they got burnt by embers :( But this year they came back with a vengeance after lots of TLC - yay!

  9. Yep, time to forget about the last of the flowers here too.

I've been thinking it might be an idea to start planning some jonquils in bowls and hyacinths etc. Maybe if i start the planning now, it will actually happen this year!! :)

  10. Poor little flowers...I mean..how on earth can you really protect them from such harsh conditions..unless you stood there with a brolly :? The ones you salvaged are lovely though..was nice that there was still some colour that remained :)

  20. I'm glad you managed to save some of your gorgeous blooms. I cut some of our Double Delight rosebuds this morning as I am sure they would have otherwise been fried in today's heat here x
