I decided that I would paint our TV unit white on the weekend. The first shot is the white-ish colour that it initially was. The second, well that's the new white-white look. Luke thinks I am on the mad side being bothered to paint it when there isn't too much difference in the outcome... He is probably right but it would just have annoyed me until I got it to the exact colour I wanted! Anyone else particular like me and just can't let things go?! Kellie x
Ps. Please take note of the last of my sweet peas! And the beautiful iceberg roses, well they are courtesy of Mum (I am not quite talented enough in the gardening stakes for roses just yet). x
beautiful Kellie! love love love the whole scheme. you have done a superb job - and don't let anyone tell you white is white! because it ain't ;)

I'm like you. If something irks me, I can't rest until it's rectified. Personally I prefer whiter white, it just seems crisper and fresher. You have done a great job. I wonder if you sprayed or brushed it?
ReplyDeletebeautiful job!
ReplyDeleteI understand! Plus if it's a big piece of furniture it will stand out to you everyday if it's not right. Looks beautiful! x
ReplyDeleteThe new white is so much whiter than the old. Great job x Caroline
ReplyDeleteOh there are so many shades of white, I like the paint job, really nice.

lovely - wish my paint jobs looked like that!
ReplyDeleteYes I would do the same thing, it's all in the detail...the new white looks so lovely and fresh!
ReplyDeleteOh Kelly, I understand completely. Don't stress, I think you got the colour right. Loving the flowers. My sweat peas have all gone too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!! I totally understand. I have repainted room before and the painters have sworn I was using the same paint. NO, it was a slightly different shade and it made me happy!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a girl thing! I am totally the same way! I HAVE just recently painted a chair 3 times because it just wasn't right. My husband accused me of painting it the same color twice! I now...LOVE it! It's not just the color...but How it looks in the different lighting that affected my painting problems! Hope you have a fantastic week...dj
ReplyDeleteWooow, everything looks so beautiful! Loving the pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have done a grand job of painting!
ReplyDeleteHope you don't start again, ha ha.
Loving the roses.
Both are gorgeous. You can't go wrong with white (or white white, or light white.... ;)
ReplyDeleteI think there's nothing more annoying than the "wrong white" so I'm with you all the way. Gorgeous blue and white chinoiserie porcelain by the way...
ReplyDeleteoh amazing job, Kellie! wish I could paint so good! gorgeous flowers! xo
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the newer white more. It's so pristine and sparkling! :)
ReplyDeleteHa! This made me laugh because it is so something I would do...I have been known to paint the same piece of furniture several times! At any rate, it looks just beautiful!!!
ReplyDelete:) T
I like the second white! It seems a bit brighter and fresher. And I'm kind of the same way - I envision something and then I want it done, even if it seems silly to other people.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you...there are so many shades of white...just go to the paint store and have a look...I wanted to pick a shade for my bathroom..I had soooooooo many to pick from...so white is not white. It was worth the time you took for peace of mind!
ReplyDeleteI definitely get it, but I think it looks gorgeous! Thanks so much for the comment over at Urban Flea, hope all is well!

Fabulous paint job - your choice of white looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I can relate. Unless you get it "just right" then it will bug you for ever and a day and you'll never be satisfied with it.
ReplyDeleteIs the second "white" one just plain white, or does it have a name?
lesley
I can tell the difference. Before was more creamy, this is more of a bright white.

There are a million, zillion whites....I'm afraid that men just don't understand !!!!
ReplyDeleteYour sweetpeas are beautiful, Kellie....one of my favourite summer flowers. XXXX
I like it in both colours, it is very well decorated ^^
ReplyDeleteWhite is so tricky! There are so many variations! With the beautiful things on top of it, I think I like the second version best. The whole thing looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love white! I recently did the same thing with my credenza and I'm super happy with it. I love the way it turned out!
ReplyDeleteYour table is just gorgeous and I love your flowers and decor. Looks like your blog reflects your home (or vice versa?)... beautiful, just as I would imagine.
ReplyDeletegreat job and it looks absolutely fabulous x
ReplyDeleteHi Kellie
ReplyDeleteYou clever girl.. fabulous job and such a fresh white. I am the same.. things have to be just so or they will bug me! x Julie
Looks great Kellie.
ReplyDeleteRoses are so easy to grow - you really should try it.
Alison
White...what white? Sorry am too distracted by all the pretty things in these pictures :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all good, because it's done, and it's done your way...the right way. And doesn't it look new?
ReplyDeleteAnd I swipe all my garden blooms from my Mama, too.
Definitely know what you mean Kellie, great job, it looks so lovely and fresh and loving the sweet peas, Happy Weekend , Jas x
ReplyDeleteDefinite improvement - things in the 'wrong' white, annoy me!
ReplyDeleteI think because of you, I'm beginning to see the beauty of using the color white in decor!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it and think you made a great choice in painting it.
