Remember my post here with the pretty paints? Well this is what I did with them and how they turned out! Pretty don't you think!?
Step 1. Take of all the labels off the glass jars with warm soapy water
Step 2. Pour paint into the inside of the jars and removing any excess paint
Step 3. Let them dry
Step 4. Decorate them with pretty flowers!

Hi my name's laura and i'm currently writing a short article for a small magazine that has just been set up, about how to decorate your house ethically using different craft techniques.
ReplyDeletei love this idea and was wondering whether we would be able to use your image please??
Many thanks,

Fun and simple (and uses up supplies & recycling) - my favorite! I will be linking at Dollar Store Crafts very soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Carol. I'm not familiar with Porter Paints. What kind of paint is it? (And I assume it doesn't dissolve in water and poison the flowers. :) )
Stunning!!

beautiful!!

Truly stunning. I am definitely going to try this. I visited the Porter's Paint web site, it looks like they have a variety of products. Which one did you use? I live in the US and I'm trying to find an equivalent. Did you use a craft/hobby enamel or simply an oil based paint? I was thinking that your standard oil based wall paint might not adhere well or stand up to soaking in water, but I'd have to buy several jars of enamel hobby paint to fill on of these jars ...
ReplyDeleteLindsey, go to the Porter's Paint website and they offer these little sample jars [Page 2 under "samples"] for $5.00 each in many, many colors.
ReplyDeleteA fab idea... this is a project I could get the G-Kids interested in and really let them go to town transforming all the discarded unusual clear bottles we can find! *winks* Just beautiful and a lovely way to repurpose something plain and ordinary and make it Beautiful and useful again!

The jars are so romantic and colorfull ! I liked the idea of painting inside and not outside of the jars ...The painting got more perfect...
ReplyDeleteAmei a idéia estou com muitos potes de vidro sem uso,vou aplica essa idéia,obrigado por compartilhar essa idéia...
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, did you have any problems with the paint melting in the sun??
