Belle of the ball!?

I have been watching this dress for ages here, thinking I have no where to wear it (well, have a genuine excuse to purchase it). But something just came up! Now, i'm dreaming about the shoes and bags but isn't the dress fabulous. I thought it would be gorgeous in winter too with black opaque tights. Kellie xx

Sour? No way it's Friday!

Something different for a Friday (well in Australia anyway). Count down for the weekend... Yipeeeee! Kellie xx

Add a bit of twinkle to your garden. I will!

Turn an empty tin of tomatoes into a fabulous outdoor lantern - just what my little garden needs... A bit more twinkle!

What you will need:

  • Used and empty aluminium can;
  • Soapy water;
  • Felt-tip pen;
  • A pattern - we used a heart;
  • 1 metre of ribbon (the prettier the better)
  • Electric drill;
  • Narrow drill bit;
  • Safety glasses;
  • Tea-light

How to make a lantern from an aluminium can

  1. Soak tin in soapy water to loosen the label.
  2. Using the pen, mark your pattern on the side of the tin and two evenly spaced points at the rim for a ribbon handle.
  3. Insert a narrow bit into an electric drill and carefully drill a series of holes in the tin. Handle with care as the inside will be sharp.
  4. Thread ribbon through the two holes at the rim and knot.
  5. Place a tea-light inside (carefully) and hang from a branch in the garden.
AND... Wallah!! Fabulous lighting for any occassion. I perhaps will change mine up a bit with some pretty, girly ribbon! Kellie xx

Moving trinkets around...

What a pretty table. Gorgeous tablecloth, an old book and fabulous little vintage trinkets. I quite like to move my little things around my home to give them a new look. This is the perfect example of how well it can work! Kellie xx

Betting over a lamp....

I saw these poodle lamps when I was last in Brisbane visiting Anna's beautiful shop.

I should have purchased one when I was there but stupidly I didn't... I had a bet with my husband Luke when we were in Noosa, if I won I got the poodle lamp, if I lost - no poodle lamp for me.

LUCKILY I WON!! And Luke, ah hem, you owe me a fabulous lamp (and lampshade included)... You thought I had forgotten... Fingers crossed there is still one available. Otherwise it's... Double or nothing!! Kellie xx

Molly wins first prize...

We went back to puppy preschool and it seems all the practicing of making Molly sit (with Lily of course) worked. She won the competition of the fastest sitter. Go Molly. Luke was very proud, in fact I think there may have been butterflies involved when she went through to the grand final. Next week she has to lie down for 10 secs.... Better start that training!! R.I.P Flowers in Garden

Well it's official. The Sydney sun has absolutely toasted almost every flower growing in my garden. The only thing that is still going strong are my lovely petunias who can't get enough of it. Well the others are burnt to a crisp. I thought I would share with you what I salvaged for my little entry way. The splashes of colour I do like. Kellie xx

A new love for swimming

I have just realised I adore swimming and not just because of the summer heat. It makes me think, in our next home, we need enough space to put in a fabulous pool if there isn't already one. This will be music to my husband's ears who is a water baby through and through! Kellie x

A magical place...

I have seen this on a number of different wedding blogs and I have to say, I think this is the most beautiful use of flowers I have ever seen at a wedding shoot. I adore the elegance, magnitude of colour and the endless charm used throughout. The detail here is incredible. You could look for hours and still find new beautiful things to discover. Magical. Perfect paint

It's amazing how a little paint can really make something sparkle or it give a fresh look when you thought it was drab and surely needed replacing before. A cheap yet effective option. I need to take my paint brush to things around our home. And I need to be more adventurous just like these fabulous pink stairs! Kellie xx

A Sydney Summer

It's hot here in Sydney and its even HOTTER in other parts of Australia. So I thought I would put together some fabulous warm weather fashion. I could do with some of this glamour to get me through the day.

Have a beautiful Sunday. Can someone please postpone Monday for me, i'm enjoying myself too much right now. Kellie xx
